The top two things to look for when comparing dissertation editing services is the quality of editors and how transparent the company is with what they do and don’t do. To help you get your paper to the next stage of the dissertation journey, an editor must also deeply understand the research process and reasons why doctoral review committees approve or reject a PhD student’s paper. Anyone with an English degree can make your writing grammatically correct. Will your editor, however, ensure you are delivering facts to adequately back your analysis? Will they ensure your sources are cited properly? Will they catch areas where a source is needed but missing? That depends on each person’s editing aptitude, time constraints, and ability to read their own writing from an independent vantage point. We have worked with clients for whom editing is second nature. They are extremely self-critical, can find faults in their own writing, remedy those faults, and are not under a tight deadline to deliver their work. We encourage them to edit their own paper because there is no better subject-matter expert in your novel field of research than you.
